Pennsylvania Business Council Governing Body
The Pennsylvania Business Council (PBC) acts as a “holding company” or umbrella for the three subordinate entities, with a relatively small 13 member Board of Directors as its governing body. PBC employs the staff, leases real estate, and incurs expenses and liabilities. The Board of the PBC oversees three subordinate entities established as standing committees of PBC: a policy development and policy advocacy organization with strong participation by senior managers; a 501(C)(3) education foundation to fund research and public education efforts; and a PAC. These standing committees will reference their historic brand identities: The PBC Policy Roundtable, PEG Political Action Committee, and the PBC Education Foundation.
The three standing committees are empowered to elect their own chairpersons and these three chairpersons are voting members ex officio of the Board of the PBC. The initial thirteen member board was selected to balance the participation with six members each from PEG and PBR and provide geographic and industry diversity. The PBC Board members are:
